MAX Agency Toronto Talent audition for TVO campaign

Thursday, December 8th, 2011

MAX Agency Toronto Talent Gina K, Deeyann D and, Kadian T have an audition for TVO network print campaign.

Television is an inescapable part of modern culture. We depend on TV for entertainment, news, education, culture, weather, sports and, music. Educational television such as documentaries can have a positive impact on one’s life. It’s a great way to learn new information. Sometimes they make you think about issues you’ve never considered, issues you might disagree, issues you might find yourself opening up too and sometimes they make you think that nothing is happening beyond you being entertained.
TVO is a publicly funded educational English-language television station and media organization in the Canadian province of Ontario. TVO’s acclaimed series of social issue documentaries acquired from around the world are controversial, eye opening, hard hitting and provocative.

Here is a preview of a TVO documentary titled, ‘Water on the table’. A look at the world’s water crisis and how the causes of the depleting water supply is connected to pollution, human rights, and politics.

Best of luck to Max Agency Models at the audition!

MAX Agency Holiday Fashion Tips

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

The holiday season is upon us. We may still be a few days shy of December, but surely your calendar is already filling up with holiday gatherings, which means the hunt for the perfect outfit to wear begins. The holidays are a great time for fashion, allowing you to wear more ornate, glamorous and fancy outfits than the other seasons allow.  Here are MAX Agency’s fashion picks to help you ace your next party.

The right sequin dress will make you stand out at any holiday party for all the right reasons. The key to rocking this look is all in the cut and colour of the dress. We love this look on Jessica Szohr below. The length is perfect for showing just the right amount of skin while the long sleeves keep it modest and the gold works perfectly with her skin tone and hair.

Sometimes it’s the little details that make an outfit. Don’t be afraid to accessorize during the holidays. Earrings are a great way to dress up a plain outfit especially if you opt to wear your hair up. The holidays are the one time of year it’s acceptable to go over the top, don’t be afraid to take advantage of earrings you’d usually be hesitant to wear. We chose these red ruby earrings that would look great with a matching red lip as well as these black and gold feather earrings that will accentuate the neck.

In a rush to a party and have nothing to wear? Don’t forget about the little black dress; a staple for all occasions, the holidays included. This dress can be heavily accessorized for a more dramatic look, or for a more simple look, wear your hair in a high bun and pair with a festive bright red lip for a pop of colour.

MAX Agency Toronto Talent auditions for The Bicycle Factory with CADBURY

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.  It’s always great to find out about new causes, especially causes that make you eat chocolate! MAX Toronto Talent Amira S, Kariah L, Amos N and Ashley R have an audition for this amazing cause and charity campaign with The Bicycle Factory and Cadbury Canada.

Best known for their chocolate Easter eggs, the Cadbury Corporation continues their fundraising drive to build 5,000 bikes a year for children in rural Ghana with The Bicycle Factory. Cadbury will show Canadians how easy it can be to make a big difference in the lives of others through small, every day purchases like chocolate, gum and candy. By urging their consumers to enter the UPC bar code numbers from Cadbury products into their website. One bike is made up of 100 parts, meaning it takes 100 UPC entries to build a bike.

Bicycles serve as an important means of transportation in the developing world. Bikes also do not rely on fossil fuel, and can help transport people and food on bumpy or unpaved roads. The fundraiser is a chance to “give back to the people who give us so much,” says Cadbury, who “sources most of their cocoa from Ghana today.” Since establishing the program in 2009, Cadbury has collected enough bar codes to produce 10,237 bikes.

Here Cadbury showcases the utility in their advertising campaign in which a girl uses her bike as a delivery van, ambulance, water truck, and school bus.

MAX Agency Toronto Talent has an audition for PRISTIQ print ad

Saturday, November 12th, 2011

Depression causes a person to feel sad, angry, or hopeless, have low self-esteem, or lose interest in things they used to enjoy. Depression can affect people of all ages and is different for every person. Women are twice as likely as men to experience depression. And Max Agency Toronto Talent Maureen Hummel has an audition to be the new face for PRISTIQ print ad.

PRISTIQ is a prescription medication that has been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of depression in adults. PRISTIQ is an SNRI, or serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. No one knows for sure what causes depression. But many experts believe that depression results when certain chemicals in the brain are out of balance. These chemicals, called neurotransmitters, relay messages from brain cell to another.

Best of luck to MAX Toronto Model Maureen at the audition!

MAX Agency Toronto Beauty Tip: The Buzz About Bee Skincare Products

Thursday, October 27th, 2011

The newest natural anti-aging therapies all have the same thing in common: bees. The poison of the honeybee could be the newest natural beauty craze.

Some of the most potent ingredients in the beauty industry come from the beehive. You’ve probably heard about the healing benefits of honey or beeswax, but you may not have heard about the anti-aging properties of bee venom.

When a bee stings, they expel venom. Your skin reacts to the venom as an irritation. Accordingly, your skin increases circulation and stimulates production of collagen and elastin, which plumps and firms fine lines and wrinkles.

As a result, bee venom facials are increasing in popularity and have been shown to lessen wrinkles in four weeks. The bee venom facemask sits for 20 minutes; this is followed by a maintenance regimen that entails applying dabs of bee venom night cream.

Honey Beauty Mask:
This moisturizing mask draws out toxins and impurities to rejuvenate your skin.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp raw honey
1 tbsp French green clay or rose clay
2 drops lavender or rose otto essential oil (optional)
Water to thin as needed

Directions: Wash face and leave slightly damp. Apply mask all over face, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Gently pat dry.

Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, uses bee venom and has gone from wrinkled to smooth using this natural approach. View her before and after pictures below:

MAX Agency Toronto Beauty Tip: Lemon Aids For Life

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

When life gives you lemons, juice, peel, and eat them for optimal health! These little yellow fruits truly do hold the secret solutions to so many of our health complaints. Lemons are also an effective weapon in the battle for better energy.

When we add lemons into our diet, we get a better working digestive system, a healthier immune system and better-looking skin. We enable the body to remove bad cholesterol, and we create a supportive environment for good bacteria; all of this means the body works more efficiently and effectively.

Unleash the anti-aging power of lemons with this homemade facial cleanser. The acid from the lemons will rid your skin of outbreak-causing bad bacteria while the healthy probiotics from the yogurt will infuse your skin with good bacteria.

Ingredients:

1 tbsp natural yogurt

1 tsp lemon juice

2 drops essential lemon oil

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together. Soak a cotton wool pad in mixture and remove makeup. Repeat with fresh cotton wool pads until make up is removed.

MAX Agency Toronto: Insider Modeling Posing Tips

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

It’s a common misconception that naturally beautiful models take naturally beautiful photographs. The truth is—without modeling poses and modeling tips, perfect photographs are harder than you think.

If you are a professional model, a photographer will most likely guide you through a variety of model poses throughout the photo shoot. But if you are an inspiring model and are still working your way up to the top—you may have to control your poses to ensure great headshots and sample modeling photographs.

Live show models, promo models, photographic models, and runway models all rely on professional model poses to succeed. Whether you aspire to appear in print magazines or fashion shows and Hollywood movies; if you want to be a model, pay special attention to this insider guide to modeling poses.

Breathe
Although sometimes concentration enhances a good photograph, obvious concentration can distract and often ruin a good photograph as well. Do not hold your breath for a modeling pose; always remember to breathe and appear at ease.

Posture
Bad posture is an unrecognized flaw in many people. However, for models, posture is a harmful flaw. Always remember to keep your back straight and your shoulders up. Slouching affects the mood of the photograph and enlarges the appearances of your stomach. In addition to your back and shoulders, always remember to flex your stomach muscles. Despite your weight or state of shape, your abdomen will appear more toned if you flex.

Limbs
Symmetry is officially out in the modeling world. When posing, make sure to differentiate your arms and legs with asymmetrical poses. If you have one arm long and straight by your side, make sure the other arm is bent. Whether a big or small angle, the bend will make the modeling pose look more real and less artificial. Continue the asymmetry to your legs. If one leg is locked straight, give the other leg a casual bend.

Camera
Although the camera is the ultimate focal point of a modeling photo shoot, great models do not look directly into the camera. To enhance the quality of your photo shoot, look away from the camera with a mix of head and eye poses. Looking off to the right or left side, or tiling your neck to either side can help you avoid direct eye contact with the camera. In many cases, your head and neck can remain stationary in your modeling pose—and your eyes can do all the work. Head and eye positions, coupled with personable facial expressions make for great model poses.

Sitting Poses
If you are sitting down during your photo shoot—don’t think it’s ok to slack off. In fact, sitting photo shoots require a lot of extra work. If you are sitting down or reclining, it’s important to put your eight on the back of one thigh, rather than distributing your weight equally on both thighs. If you roll one hip up from the ground or surface, shifting your weight will be simple. This pose results in a slimming effect that you don’t want to miss out on.

Smile
If you have a naturally beautiful smile—show your pearly whites with pride, just not every time. If you smile in each modeling pose, modeling agents will notice your lack of versatility, not your smile. To add variety to your modeling poses, try switching up your smile with a cute frown, a bratty bout, a friendly laugh, or even an edgy scowl. Your facial expressions can make or break your modeling poses. Let your smile show, but make sure to show what else you can do.

Keep these insider model posing tips in mind during your next professional model photo shoot to ensure you blow the photographer away. Whether you’re a trained expert or an ambitious beginner, all models have the ability to excel in photo shoots. Focus on your posture, attitude, and facial expressions to succeed beyond your wildest expectations.
