You can help save a life by deciding to become an organ donor and learning the many benefits of organ donation and seeing how it can change someone’s life. Did you know there are currently over 1,500 Ontario residents waiting for an organ donation? The largest group waiting is from 18-49 years of age. So far this year 399 transplants were completed. In 2010, more than 100 people died while waiting for an organ transplant. Organ and tissues from a single non-living donor can be used to potentially save 8 lives who need organs and enhance 75 lives through tissue donation.
Trillium Gift of Life Network is a not-for-profit provincial agency dedicated to planning, promoting, coordinating and supporting organ and tissue donation across Ontario and improving the system so that more lives could be saved.
This Trillium Organ Donation Awareness campaign shows that organ donation can transform lives and make anything in life possible. Be an organ donor because to the world you may only be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
