Synopsis/special Note:     ’Dial Up Your Charm’….We see a beautiful
(preferably) red head…on camera. She is looking ‘right-at-us’. The guys who
go to this site then get to play this online game with ‘Erica’. The objective
is to keep Erica’s attention …’keeping the charm’…there is a dial and you
have to keep the needle away from the ‘cheesy/dirty spectrum to stay in the
game. How long can you keep her attention with your charm? you have to answer
questions the site throws at you. Occassionally a ‘wingman’ may pop in to
provide some help. If a ‘player’ manages to make it past the 60 second mark
and prove their charm they will be encouraged to click through to another site
to take advantage of other offers…t-shirs, give aways, contests etc

always on the go and that all females can relate to. Her advice really means
something to any mom looking to buy a new car. Must be able to easily memorize
lines that involve some very technical terms. An easy conversationalist that
must have experience being on camera, whether as a host or as an actor.

[MALE HOST] Male. 30-45. Caucasian. Rugged and very good looking. A true man’s
man. Men can relate/look up to him and women will find him gorgeous to look
at. He knows his car inside and out and could probably take it apart and put
it back together while barely breaking a sweat. Must be able to easily

Storyline And Comments
Storyline:  The kidnapping of a Canadian in Darfur collides the lives of 4
characters, challenging the limits of their sympathy, suffering and compassion.
A Canadian foreign aid worker [LISA FISCHER] is being held for ransom in
Darfur. Her young captor [JACOB] was a child-soldier and product of his
country’s turmoil. Lisa’s husband [DANIEL FISCHER] waits in a government
office for news. His case worker [MPUMI MAYANE] is a Sudanese refugee; she
knows personally, and full-well how stories like Daniel’s and Lisa’s often
end. Mpumi will go as far as she can to help the Canadian couple, even if it
means killing the only hope she has left. 
Excellent demo material for all roles! Excellent script. 
Subject to certain criteria, ACTRA Apprentice members working in student
productions have the option to purchase an ACTRA Work Permit and to receive
credit towards full membership. Apprentice members are required to quote the
production’s ACTRA Registration Number on their Work Permit application form.
Non- members are eligible buy may not obtain an ACTRA credit for their
participation in a student production.

Characters
(Lead)   MPUMI MAYANE – African American/Sudanese.     Gender: Female     Age: 35-50
A woman whose country broke her heart. A refugee from Darfur, currently works
in the Canadian Foreign Affairs dept. Her past haunts her: her husband
murdered, her son, stolen. The cases that continually cross her desk, like
that of Daniel and Lisa’s, have crushed the hopes she’s held to see her
homeland redeemed. But the thought of her son still being alive drives her on
and on. She tells stories of seeing many horrors in her life ie: men being
skinned alive while thier wives are raped. Excellent demo material for all roles!
(Lead)   DANIEL FISCHER – Caucasian Canadian     Gender: Male     Age: 25-45
A man for whom almost everything in his life has gone right: winning- looks,
charm, money. Has only ever known Canada. Works as a high- end real estate
broker. Just married Lisa last year. As a high- rolling bachelor, Lisa was the
best thing to ever happen to him, changed his world and opened his mind.
Daniel wanted nothing more than to settle down in a nice suburb to raise a
family. Need an actor who has full access to his emotions. Lisa has been
kidnapped and Daniel is beside himself. Excellent demo material for all roles!
(Supporting)   LISA FISCHER – Caucasian Canadian     Gender: Female     Age: 20-40
A Master’s student studying international affairs. A seasoned traveler. Went
despite her husband’s disapproval. Was convinced going to Darfur was something
she had to do before settling down. Felt she needed to understand, first-hand,
the situations she was studying so that she could feel less helpless about the
world. Not naïve, but a vulnerably open-heart. She is held captive by Jacob.
Scared for her life. Need a strong actress. Excellent demo material for all roles!
(Supporting)   JACOB – African American/Sudanese.     Gender: Male     Age: 18-24, 16ok
He has in imposing, threatening presence. He holds Lisa hostage. Has a lot of
anger. A mature 16 yr old would be ok but he has to be an old soul, someone
who has seen a lot of horror in his life. A child-soldier. Was 8 years old
when the put a gun in his hand – that was the last time he cried. Trying to
accelerate his rise in the ranks of rebel groups, desperately wants to “be
somebody” in his world. This is the first-time he’s been put in charge of a
prisoner alone. Excellent demo material for all roles!
